Hailing from central North Carolina, performer and educator Kai Lance brings together his love for American roots music, jazz, and open improvisation to create a unique compositional and improvisatory language.
Kai is currently a student at the New England Conservatory of Music, in Boston, where he is studying with Jerry Bergonzi and Ran Blake, among others.
Kai is dedicated to cultivating projects that feature his favorite musicians, creating space for musical exchange through the lens of his compositions and arrangements. As a teacher, Kai is dedicated to helping students of all ages explore their own passion for music.
